Wynwood CigarsWynwood Cigars is a relative newcomer to the market but has already drawn the interest of aficionados.  All components of the products, from the wrappers to the binders and fillers are made in Honduras under the commission of the Wynwood Cigar Factory in Miami, Florida. Down to the Honduran rollers who competed for the chance to work at the newly established factory, the product holds the promise of delivering an authentic yet unique Caribbean-style smoking experience.

Part of the Fabricas Unidas family, and born from the minds of former Camacho President Christian Eiroa and Hotel Humidor CEO Robert Caldwell, the company prides itself on a “factory fresh” production approach that omits the traditional aging period. Instead, the product is shipped straight from the roll table to the customer in an effort to keep temperature and ambiance variations to a minimum.  The customer then has the choice of how and where to store the product, and for how long, enabling him to create a smoking experience tailored to his individual taste.  According to the manufacturer, the range of flavors reaches from spicy and sweet to mellow and crisp, depending on humidity, duration of storage and the method of storage.

Their lines are available in four dimensions: the Honduras 46x5.5, 50x4.5, 52x6, and as a Honduras Mini Diadema. All varieties comes in a box of 25 pieces, each of which features a band with stripes in the colors of cream, red, black, brown and peach, inscribed with the front mark “Wynwood Honduras.”

Wynwood cigars derive their name from Miami’s blossoming Art District and the company has incorporated the City’s art scene in its own image. They display and promote art by local artists inside the factory and offer tours of the facilities to the public along with hosting art-related events in conjunction with the enjoyment of cigars.

Some reviewers describe Wynwood cigars as a boutique blend that is solidly rolled and features a nearly flawless wrapper with an oily sheen. Many herald the overall look and feel of these sticks with descriptions of easy and even lighting.  Reviewers have reported pre-light draws with notes of coffee, cedar and cream, and subsequent nuances of butter and espresso, as well as flavour notes of vanilla and woodiness about halfway through. In the final third, the product is said to feature a smooth, earthy taste. Others have commented that the product maintains solid notes of cedar, grass, nuts and spice throughout, with little notable variations as the smoking experience progressed. Aficionados appear to agree, however, that the product delivers a pleasant complexity and laud the draw, ash and burn of Wynwood cigars.

Independent review sites have also received comments that described the product as a full-bodied, medium strength offering that smokes perfectly, burning nice and straight. Wynwood cigars are also said to be of excellent construction, rewarding the smoker with a length of firm ash that reaches well beyond the one-inch mark. The cap, reviewers say, is expertly and securely applied. Overall, reviewers praise the product as a gem that oozes with great, savory flavour notes, features exquisite construction, and is uniformly judged to deliver an all-around exceptional smoking experience.
