The eighth blend to be released by Black Label Trading Company (BLTC), Deliverance cigars is one of two of their limited production smokes.  BLTC’s philosophy is “less is more” and in line with their limited productions, Deliverance is comprised of aged tobaccos that are too limited for large-scale productions. Naturally, this limitation contributes to the exclusivity that surrounds their different lines. Based in Nicaragua, they love the country’s aged tobaccos and how they create smooth smokes that are earthy in flavor, but divine in experience.

This medium to full-bodied stogie features a San Andres Mexico natural wrapper that adds a lot of dimension to its flavor profile. The tobacco leaf they use for the wrapper is aged for 18 months and the owner, James Brown, uses it because he loves the deep richness and complexity it imparts to the smoke. Black Label Trading Company produced the Deliverance cigars only in 500 boxes each of the two vitolas. These cigars come in only the Lancero (7” x 38) and Corona Gorda (5 ½” x 48) – boxes are counts of twelve for the Lancero and 16 for the Corona. Aficionados reviewed this shortly after release, and they were blown away by the insane flavors. It is a gorgeous hand-crafted stogie with its caramel colored wrapper, quadruple fume-style cap, portrait-style band with a skeleton in profile. Pre-light draws were a mix of sweet tobacco and sugar cane with hints of earthy leather and cedar. The first third of the stogie is when the cinnamon and clove flavors burst into full force with wisps of white pepper to balance out the spicy sweetness. The burn line is even and razor sharp with the ash nice and firm. The second third has more pepper with a cocoa note emerging. A diverse flavor profile is why aficionados smoke what Black Label Trading Company produces. Deliverance cigars do not disappoint. It is definitely one of the most complex cigars out there. The final third is solid on both construction and flavor. The cinnamon and clove flavors of the San Andres wrapper really give this stogie its uniqueness. The balance of flavors is delicate with its earthy leather and cedar and sweet cinnamon and clove. Add a creamy note and the whole experience is almost otherworldly intense. The last third ramps up in both the intensity and smoke production. Reviewers commented on how this is the perfect cigar to make smoke rings with

Final thoughts were this is a solid medium-bodied smoke – until the last third, which intensifies to a more full-bodied smoke. The construction is fantastic and requires little to no touch-ups. Reviewers gave it an excellent rating of nine out of ten. For those who smoke Black Label Trading Company’s Deliverance cigars, you look forward to seeing what other smokes they will produce in the future.
