San Lotano Cigars The San Lotano Oval Cigars are being hailed by reviewers as one of the most unique smokes in the tobacco industry. Master blender, AJ Fernandez, has done it again. This San Lotano is an oval shaped cigar and box pressed at the AJ Fernandez factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Their aim for perfection is no exception when it comes to this smoke.

This San Lotano Oval cigar is made with a Habano 2000 wrapper that has been aged for more than four years. The binder is a Nicaraguan puro. The fillers are a compilation of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and AJ Fernandez's secret blend of tobaccos. Many who have tried this fine and complex flavored stick said that it is without a doubt a medium-bodied smoke from start to finish. They also said that the aged wrapper, binder, and fillers perfectly complimented each other. Its refined taste and unique shape have kept them coming back for more.

Reviewers agreed that the stick was smooth to the touch with a nice glistening of oils. There were minimal veins present, and felt well rolled from foot to cap with no soft spots. These offerings bring a nice variety of sizes to the consumer. They can be purchased in the following sizes:

The Petite Robusto - .5 x 54

The Corona - 5.5 x 44

The Robusto - 5.5 x 54

The Toro - 6.0 x 54

The flavor palate was hailed by those who tried them as being full of flavor right from the start. They noted that with the first smell of the stick, there was a leathery note with a nice chocolate scent. A mossy note along with the presence of chocolate could be smelled coming from the foot. The first draw gave a delicious coffee note that intensified when exhaled through the nose. The wrapper left a taste of chocolate on reviewers' lips that melded in nicely with the coffee and spice during the first third of these San Lotano Oval Cigars. Thick, billowy, creamy smoke comes rolling off the palate giving the toast and wood flavors a pleasant blending with the chocolate. The second third was where they said the traditional flavored notes came through. Those were noted as sweet cedar and toasty nut. In addition, they tasted a slight maple flavor. The ash was said to be a beautiful white ash holding on very well with an almost perfect burn line.

Moving to the final third, these San Lotano Oval Cigars were stated as being a fantastic smoke. It moved into a molasses, pepper, and coffee flavoring. The smoke lasted about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. At this point, the consensus was that it exhibited very nice complexity as they moved through the flavor notes. Many of the reviewers were enjoying every aspect of this stick. They also stated that these smokes were a must have for any personal humidor, even for the more inexperienced aficionado.
