Perdomo Cuban BulletThe Perdomo Cuban Bullet is another fabulous smoke created by Tabacalera Perdomo. It has been released twice, and this second release is even more amazing than the first. The Perdomo Cuban Bullet is made with premium long-filler tobacco that has been aged and fermented to achieve a perfection of flavor. It is offered in four sizes, Robusto 5 inch x 50 ring gauge, Toro 6 x 50, Churchill 7 x 50 and Torpedo 5 ¾ x 54.

The original Perdomo Cuban Bullet was released in 1998. It was made of a tobacco blend of high quality, long-filler and short-filler. It was made in two wrapper types, natural and maduro. They were both offered in three torpedo sizes along with one churchill size. They were sold in a twenty-five count painted box. Natural wrappers were in a black painted box and the maduro wrapped cigars were in a red painted box. The newly released Perdomo Cuban Bullet is hand rolled with premium long-filler only. They are packaged in Spanish cedar boxes, with a natural finish in counts of twenty.

The roots of this company and family trace back to, Silvio Perdomo, who was raised in San Jose de las Lajas, Cuba. He started apprenticing in the tobacco world in the early 1930's at Cuesta y Cia. From 1937 to 1945, he worked at H.Upmann factory. He then went on to work at the Partagas factory until 1959. His son, Nick Perdomo, Sr. started his apprenticeship at the Marin and Trullijo factory in 1948. He later joined his father at Partagas. They both accomplished much in their field, and earned recognition for their craftsmanship. Life was good for both father and son. That changed quickly with the rise of Fidel Castro. Silvio was opposed to Castro and the revolution that was taking place in his country. He was arrested and spent over twelve years in some of Cuba's most notorious prisons. He endured starvation, torture and inhumane conditions. His son, Nick was not immune to the violence either. He was shot and critically wounded. While recovering, he remained a wanted man by the regime. In haste, he was able to receive a sponsorship through the Catholic Church to come to the U.S. Coming to America has proved to be a successful decision for his family. Nick Perdomo, Jr. is the current President, and C.E.O. of Tabacalera Perdomo. He started this business in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He started it as a business out of his home, and it is now an extremely successful company, employing over 2000 people. These premium hand rolled cigars can be purchased here in the U.S., and also in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia. One of their major sticking points is that they offer cigars at every price level so that anyone can enjoy a premium cigar.

After taking a look at the history of the company, lets light up one of these Perdomo Cuban Bullet cigars to see what we are in for. The Cuban Seed wrapper is a beautiful tan color. There are small veins that run throughout. It's a solid feeling cigar that is well packed, with no soft spots. The draw is easy and the burn is straight throughout the entire smoke, and it produces a fair amount of creamy smoke. The ash holds firm and is a white color. The first third has a primary flavor of earth. There are peppery notes as well. Into the second third, there are no real flavor changes, although a woody flavor starts to appear. Into the final third, the woody flavor is the most prominent. The earthy flavor that was prominent in the beginning is starting to back off at this point. There are bits of a peppery flavor that hits you from time to time. This cigar rounds off to a smooth finish. The Perdomo Cuban Bullet would be well suited for anyone wanting to enjoy a smooth cigar. The flavors don't shift much, which make it a pleasant, non-distracting smoke.
