La Gloria Cubana The Twin Series Cigars Sale OnlineLa Gloria Cubana, The Twin Series cigars, are a unique remix of the brand’s much beloved LGC blend. When the original blend was released several years ago, it was well received by nearly everyone, even notching a 98 in one popular tobacco publication. This release actually includes two boxes of 10 stogies each. The first, called Lady La Gloria (LLG), comes with an Ecuadorian Sumatran wrapper, while the other called Rival Twin (RT), is wrapped with a Connecticut Broadleaf. The rest of the blend, which contains Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, has been tweaked slightly since its original release. The result is a delicious update that pays respect to the original release.

Both blends are only available in a single vitola, a 7 x 58. The LLG is slightly lighter than the RT, though both are dark and have a rustic look to them. They come with a distinct oily sheen and some veining, and reviewers were impressed with their weight. The band design is similar between the two, with the brand’s iconic lady serving as the focus for both. Aficionados tasted several flavors on the pre-light draw, including leather, sweet tobacco and some coffee.

The initial third for the La Gloria Cubana, The Twin Series cigars, starts off with the tobacco notes detected on the pre-light, though they are not as sweet at this point. The flavors in the first-third are fairly simple, with the tobacco notes up front throughout. Reviewers agreed that they are clean and steady, and some felt they had a citrus edge to them. Near the end of the first-third, some tertiary coffee and sweet notes emerge in the background. There are only subtle differences between the LLG and RT at this point, though the RT has a stronger nicotine punch.

During the second-third, the RT adds some black pepper to the mix while the LLG remains smooth with some tobacco and sweet flavors. The leather that reviewers tasted on the pre-light shows up about halfway through both and plays a strong secondary role to the dominant tobacco notes. The black pepper in the RT eventually moves to the back of the palate and is replaced by some subtle black coffee notes. The coffee is also present in the LLG.

In the final third of the La Gloria Cubana, The Twin Series cigars, the tobacco is still the strongest flavor in both stogies. The coffee notes grow stronger in this part of the stick and join the leather as a bold secondary note. In the LLG, there is some sweetness that tastes similar to maple syrup, while the RT hits with more black pepper. The pepper gets especially strong near the end of the smoke, though both finish smooth.

Both smokes are medium bodied and around medium in strength, though the RT is comfortably between medium and full
. The burn and draw both step up and help bring together a strong performance in both cigars. The only thing aficionados may be frustrated about with this smoke is its availability. It is an extremely limited release and will be almost impossible to find for smokers on the east coast. For this reason, many aficionados will have to search this one out online.
