L Atelier Torcaderos CigarsL Atelier Trocadero cigars are another offering from the L Atelier line. This is a new line from Pete Johnson, K.C. Johnson, Dan Welsh and Sean Johnson, and falls right in line with their other releases. The L Atelier Trocadero cigars are an affordable smoke ranging in price per stick of about $4. They can also be purchased in a five-pack or twenty count bundle. Prices for the bundle are between $60 and $90 depending on the ring gauge. They are offered in three sizes: Honore 5.75 x 56, Montaigne 6.25 x 60, and Cambon 5.25 x 52. As with the other sticks that are offered in this line, these are promised to deliver a great smoke at a bargain price.

They were blended for Pete Johnson by Jaime Garcia, and produced in Estelí, Nicaragua at My Father’s Cigar factory. The L Atelier Trocadero cigars are considered to be on the milder side of this line, but still fall in the medium body category. They are made with an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper. The binder is Connecticut broadleaf with Nicaraguan long-filler tobacco.

The reviews on this stick are positive across the board. Much of them claiming the same thing; this is a great budget stick that tastes like it should be double its price. The overall construction gets a thumbs-up. It is packed fairly well, with no major soft spots, and very minimal veins. The draw is easy from beginning to end. Reviewers stated no issues with the burn line, and that it remained straight throughout. The ash held on well, and was grey in color.

Before lighting up, reviewers note that there was an earthy aroma with cocoa and sweetness. Once lit, the L Atelier Trocadero cigars offer a nice well-rounded bouquet of flavors. The first-third offers flavors of hay, earthiness, and roasted nuts. Shortly after, the spiciness that is synonymous for Garcia’s blends shows up bringing this smoke right into the medium body billing. Transitioning towards the second-third there are flavors of earth, coffee, cocoa, and more spice. There is more sweetness at that point which helps to mellow out the spiciness. In the second-third, a delightful creaminess enters in that remains until the end of the smoke. The overall flavor profile never gets particularly strong or bitter. Instead, the flavors that are present blend really well and complement each other. The final third offers more creaminess, a bit more spice, earthy flavors, coffee, and cocoa.

This is a smoke that does not disappoint. Several reviewers noted that they themselves have several L Atelier Trocadero cigars in their own humidor. They suggested buying several, not just because of the price, but because after some time in the humidor the flavors are more prominent. This is a great smoke to have in the morning since it is mild to medium bodied. Because of the flavor profile and price tag, these would be easy to give as a gift to any cigar smoker. Reviewers also noted that these can be enjoyed by an enthusiast on any level.
