Cohiba Edicion Diamante Cigars For Sale! The Cohiba Edicion Diamante cigars are unique for several reasons, and are the embodiment of the word premium. For many, it is worthy of being a collectable, and may find its way into some humidors for a very long time. Those who light it up will find a mature and complex set of flavors that experienced smokers will appreciate the most. In short, these are designed for those aficionados that can appreciate nuanced layers and strong construction.

The centerpiece of this stick is its wrapper. The paper is a Cameroon wrapper aged since 1980, and is extremely rustic in appearance. The Cohiba Edicion Diamante cigars contain binders from Indonesia and a filler blend from the Dominican Republic – the company’s proprietary Piloto Cubano blend. The sticks are packaged in individual coffin boxes, and the wrapper is a medium brown with a nice tight construction. The seams are not visible, and while there is some veining, it is light and blends into the stogie well. It is double banded, one has the words “CAPA RESERVA 1980” and the other has “LIMITED RELEASE 2012” emblazoned in dark red lettering.

Reviewers stated that the draw is perfect before lighting, and evokes several aromas that suggest the complexity that lies inside. These tastes include leather, cedar, cherry and citrus. Most reviewers were delighted with this, and found the layers balanced well against each other.

Throughout the smoke, reviewers were very pleased with both the burn and draw on the Cohiba Edicion Diamante cigars, which is extra impressive given the age of its wrapper. In comparison to other collectable sticks, this one has top-notch construction and performs well. The burn is slightly jagged, but does not become an issue at all, and the ash it produces is a bright white and clings on for more than an inch before falling off.

The first third of the stick produces strong wood and pepper layers, and also includes some sweet tobacco tastes that all blend well. Many reviewers found that there was not one dominant flavor, and all of the notes jockeyed for center stage. As the opening third of the Cohiba Edicion Diamante cigars dwindles down, it transitions from a tobacco sweetness to a nice citrus and cherry that many detected in the pre-light draw. It never becomes overpowering, but is the strongest note that many picked up on.

The second and third sections of the stick are pretty similar, and are much smoother than the first third. Once the Cohiba Edicion Diamante cigars hit their stride, they stick with the citrus and cherry sweetness, and pair it with some significant black pepper. This makes for an interesting savory and sweet combo, the savory notes coming from the blend and the sweeter flavors imparted by the Cameroon wrapper.

These sticks come in only two vitolas, including the Robusto (5 x 50) and the Toro (6 x 54). The smoke is decidedly medium bodied, and is extremely smooth, making it a complex but agreeable experience for most smokers. This stogie is premium all the way, and its collectability makes it a target for aficionados. At around $20 a pop, they aren’t typically for the novice, but they make for a superb gift that any aficionado would enjoy greatly.
