Why Purchase The Carlos Torano Exodus Finite Cigar OnlineThe Carlos Torano Exodus Finite cigar was revealed at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show and represents the fourth release for the company’s line. This stick honors the Cubans who fled their home country seeking a better life in 1959. This is the first release in the line since 2009 and only available in a limited edition, making it a highly sought after stogie. Its limited quantity is due to the hard to find tobaccos that make-up its profile, though these tobaccos also infuse the stick with interesting and delicious flavors.

This stick is a Nicaraguan Puro and uses plants from four regions of the country. The wrapper is a Jalapa Habano Seed Viso, the binder a Jalapa Seco and the fillers are from Esteli, Ometepe and Condega. The Carlos Torano Exodus Finite is being released in three vitolas, including Robusto (4 7/8 x 52), BFC (6 x 60) and Toro (6 1/4 x 52).

The wrapper is a dark chocolate coloring and has a palpably oily finish. There is some marbling in spots and a few noticeable veins, though the color scheme helps them blend. The label is purple, gold and black, with the brand name in elegant gold lettering on a purple background. The name of the stick is also in gold but sits on a black background. The prelight draw produces some spicy cedar and sweet raisin flavor.

The initial third of the stogie starts off with some coffee and pepper notes, though the pepper is much stronger on the retrohale than on the palate. Once the pepper calms down a bit, the sweet raisin notes that are present on the prelight emerge. Reviewers found that the raisin notes tended to linger and leave a subtle sweetness on the tongue. About halfway through the first-third, some earth flavors that are present slip into the background along with the coffee. The raisin and pepper notes remain the strongest throughout this part of the smoke.

In the second-third of the stogie, the raisin sweetness evolves a bit and becomes something closer to wine in taste. The earth and pepper notes also change some, the earth flavor taking on a grainy taste and the pepper adding some cedar spice to the mix. The grain flavor sits in the background with the coffee notes while the cedar spice and wine flavors are the dominant actors.

In the last third of the Carlos Torano Exodus Finite, the grain and coffee notes fade out completely, leaving the cedar spice, sweet wine and pepper to control the profile until the end of the smoke. The stick finishes perfectly, with a firm, cool nub.

The stogie performs well in burn and draw, providing the perfect medium for its unique flavor profile. It is also stronger than the company’s other cigars, sitting at medium to full in strength and full in body. Overall, reviewers considered it worthy of any smoker’s humidor, providing an excellent mix of flavor, performance and history that tobacco aficionados are sure to appreciate.
