Discount Cain Habano CigarsCain Habano cigars are one of the numerous Cain cigar offerings. All in the Cain line are sold by the Oliva Cigar Company, which has its roots in Cuba, dating back to the 20’s. The company now grows its Cuban-seed tobacco in Nicaragua, and the founder’s grandson is in charge of the company. The Cain brand was first introduced in 2009, so they haven’t been around very long, but in this short time, they have made quite a name for themselves. They are well known and very well respected, and many online reviews will give, if not glowing, then at least grudgingly respectful reviews. Cain Habano cigars have Habano wrappers, which seems in this case to be the indication of the actual wrapper and not just the color. Since the label can be applied to both, it’s wise to be aware of that. This way you can take the time to find out if your wrapper has been processed in the manner that would accompany the proper label, or if it is simply addressing the color. “Habano” isn’t even an actual color on the Cuban scale, so that’s something else to keep in mind when assessing any stick that bears that name.

The Cain Habano cigar is made of a mix of the ligero from three different regions in Nicaragua. The three types of ligeros are from the Esteli, Condega, and Jalapa regions. This is done in order to offer a more nuanced experience, rather than just a single option by itself. The Esteli ligero is the strongest, while the Condega is milder, and the Jalapa adds some interesting flavors to the mix. Some of the reviewers seem surprised that the Cain Habano cigar isn’t even stronger than it already is, but it gets marked down to milder facet due to the fact that they are triple fermented. It is described as having thick smoke, with a nearly perfect burn and draw upon beginning this smoke. One reviewer indicates that the ash grew to greater than an inch long before giving way, and that at over an hour of smoking, the reviewer hadn’t yet reached the halfway point. Even when describing the finish, the reviewer was still praising the burn. At least one other review said the ash held to two inches consistently. A number of people have made certain to point out that this stick should be smoked on a full stomach. There are also several mentions of being light headed upon finishing it, in an effort to warn others that this isn’t for the faint of heart, nor is it for those that are not accustomed to smoking cigars of this level.

Cain Habano cigars seem to be a positive addition to the sticks already offered by the Oliva Cigar Company. You should be able to get them from your online cigar shop, along with any other smoking accessories you can think of. Just remember, no matter how many reviews you read, you won’t know for sure if this is a stick for you until you decide to try it.
