Since the late 19th Century, Romeo y Julieta cigars have remained one of the worlds most popular cigars. From their Cuban roots to the modern day Dominican version, Romeos are well known for their quality, consistency, and great price. While the Altadis USA version was always a big seller, especially the Romeo 1875 line, they were considered to be rather mellow by some aficionados. They were typically using mellow Dominican tobaccos and usually an Indonesian or Connecticut wrapper. That all changed when they released the Romeo by Romeo.

The Romeo is a bold, medium to full bodied masterpiece. It is hand rolled in the worlds largest cigar factory, Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic. It uses aged Dominican tobaccos for the filler and binder, but this time they used richer and stronger leaves to give it a more robust core. The finishing touch was a stunning, oily, Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. This outer leaf added tremendous notes spice, pepper, leather, and rich coffee. It became an instant sensation, garnering a 94 rating from cigar aficionado and was named the #3 cigar of the year, the highest for a non-cuban Romeo in history.

The Romeo by Romeo remains one of the best cigars Altadis USA has ever created, and from the team that rolls Montecristo, that’s saying something. For the longest time this Romeo was only available in stores, but lucky for you, you can now enjoy it online. Where you may ask? Well right here at Serious Cigars.
