In a very short period of time, Steven Bailey has established himself as one of the most intriguing and inspiring men in the cigar industry. While his family history is rich in tobacco culture, it is not the typical tale of a cigar manufacturer. Steven is part of a long legacy of American cigarette tobacco growers with a history that stretches back over 150 years. It was only recently that Steve decided to enter the premium cigar industry, introducing a boutique brand that is already making its way into the hearts and minds of aficionados. That brand is Cornelius and Anthony.

The name of the company is derived from Cornelius Bailey, the first member of the family to begin to cultivate tobacco and from Steve’s middle name, Anthony.

The brand started with its signature line, the Cornelius, which was rolled at the legendary El Titan de Bronze factory, and was an instant success, garnering several 90+ ratings. It is around this time that Steve met the bad boy of Nicaragua…Erik Espinosa. Since then, Erik's La Zona factory in Nicaragua has been working tirelessly with Steve to create new and enticing blends. Following the Cornelius, the company released the Vengaza, Meridian, and the fan favorite Daddy Mac, all with unique wrapper binder and filler combinations and Steve's rustic, heritage-based art work.

Last year, we saw the release of two more cigars including the Senor Esugars, a rich dark smoke with a touching story behind it (it is named after Steve's dog). With over a century and a half of experience and a love for all that is tobacco, Steven Bailey is the right man to help lead the cigar industry into the future.
