Born in Havana Cuba and raised in Miami, Erik Espinosa inherited his passion for the leaf from his father. He began working in the cigar industry in 1997, starting as an independent broker peddling cigars for various companies. In that span of time, he lent his talents to top brands such as 601, La Bomba, Murcielago, Drew Estate, Rocky Patel and more. Today, he is a thriving brand owner with his own factory, La Zona, in Estelí, Nicaragua that produces some of the finest premium handmade cigars on the market. Focusing solely on boutique blends, the ever-growing Espinosa portfolio includes the dark and delicious Espinosa Maduro, the spicy and peppery Murcielago, the unique and exotic Reggae Dread line, and the wildly popular Espinosa Habano and Laranja Reserva line that both received 90+ ratings by Cigar Aficionado.
