While much of the museum is a reflection of the artistic talents of the region, its many collections and exhibits stem from across the globe. Reed Reef Park

Ok, so an outdoor park might not be somewhere you’d initially consider when planning a January trip. However, this is Florida – even in the cooler months, the weather is usually mild enough to enjoy the outdoor activities in Boca Raton.

Red Reef Park is a 67-acre park spanning across the coastline. With dry land behind you and the ocean lapping at your toes, the park offers some of the most fun things to do in Boca Raton. There’s an artificial reef in the shallow waters at the southern end of the park, which has become the designated snorkeling area. While not a natural reef, the area does attract an abundance of underwater wildlife, including local parrotfish,  spottail pinfish, and even barracudas. Don’t worry – there are always lifeguards and Ocean Rescue staff nearby to protect the waters.

Back on shore, Red Reef Park features an elaborate nine-hole golf course to suit every level of experience. There’s also the lengthy boardwalk, which offers splendid views of the glittering ocean while enjoying a leisurely stroll.   

The Boca Raton History Museum

Boca Raton and the surrounding region is brimming with rich history, much of which has been preserved at The Boca Raton History Museum.

The museum itself is easy to spot thanks to its glimmering golden dome. However, it’s what lies beneath the shining roof that makes Boca Raton’s old Town Hall so inviting. The museum features rotating exhibits throughout the year, each operated by the Boca Raton Historical Society. Each exhibit showcases a slice of the city’s history, such as Boca Raton’s first responders from the previous century. There are also areas dedicated to the city’s pioneer era, and the role it played in World War II. Stop by the museum to uncover the rich past of Boca Raton.

Town Center Mall

The Boca Town Center Mall is an all-indoors shopping mall that serves as retail heaven for those hitting the January sales. There are just under 200 stores to explore, giving you ample chance to browse the rails to your heart’s content.

After a day exploring the sprawling mall, you’ll be taking home bags of items from Abercrombie & Fitch, L’Occitane, Nordstrom, and more.
