Savinellis Nicaraguan Cigar Reserve of 2007Originally, this company made superb pipes and tobaccos, but began in the cigar industry in 1994 and today offers the Savinelli Nicaraguan Reserve 2007 cigar line. This line is made with the very best tobacco that is Cuban seed. It is unrivaled by any other in the world. Each of the blends in this line features a Nicaraguan binder and filler and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.

They are available in the following sizes and shapes:

• Robusto (5” x 52)
• Toro (6” x 50)
• Torpedo (6 ½” x 54)
• Trabajador (4” x 56).

Most of the reviewers of the Savinelli Nicaraguan Reserve 2007 line all sampled the Torpedo shaped cigar. All of them agreed that this was a terrific cigar and that they would definitely recommend it to a friend. They also commented that they would be keeping an ample supply of these cigars in their personal humidors at home, to ensure the chance to enjoy them again in the future.

The very first flavor note that each reviewer encountered was that of rich coffee. The coffee note was described as being an espresso flavor, with plenty of strength. Others also added that the espresso note almost tasted like it was coated in sweet syrup. This sweetness is also mixed with a little touch of saltiness that is prevalent in the beginning third of the smoke. The Savinelli Nicaraguan Reserve 2007 definitely hasn’t disappointed those that have tasted it thus far.

On into the first third, reviewers all said that they came across notes that were rather spicy. The sweetness and the saltiness remained, but the spiciness was now ramping up in the middle. It wasn’t overpowering but it was definitely taking over the dominance in the flavor profile and pushing the salty sweetness to the background. The spiciness remained throughout the middle and on through to the end of the cigar and was described as taking on flavor notes of cedar and pepper. The finish was described as being smooth and silky and not harsh in any way.

All of the reviewers were pleased with the Savinelli Nicaraguan Reserve 2007 cigar. The strength of the cigar was decidedly in the medium range as reported by all who enjoyed this great smoke. The reviewers also placed the flavor profile within in the medium body to full bodied range. The draw was easy with a lot of thick and almost silken smoke. The ash held on for quite a while and was salt and pepper in color.

From the first impression to the weight of the stick in the hand, those that tried this offering were thoroughly pleased. The rave reviews of the Savinelli Nicaraguan Reserve 2007 line have proven that the company has successfully made the transition from pipes to cigars.

This carefully crafted cigar, produced by master blenders and pipe manufacturers would most likely appeal to anyone who enjoys a good strong cup of coffee or a nice cordial. The transition in flavors offers the aficionado a unique range to entertain the palate from start to finish.
