Hopz cigars were made to be the perfect partner to an India Pale Ale (IPA). Traditional cigars go great with Brandy or Scotch, but there wasn’t an ideal smoke for craft beers, until this uniquely blended tobacco product came along. The maker tried all kinds of different hops that could be used for this concoction. Centennial hops were finally chosen, even though it had a stout aroma of flowers. The vision became reality and quickly became popular throughout pubs and bars everywhere. The combination of fine ale and Hopz cigars is just pure magic.
The maker of this product has been in the industry since 1996. A bourbon maker called on a man by the name of Ted Jackson to come up with a unique cigar for an event they were having. Somehow he came up with a product that used the bourbon makers own alcohol. It was an instant hit among the guests at the event. After this, Ted went on to perfect the blending of hops seeds into the tobacco without destroying the entire essence of the smoke. After many trials and errors, the process was well understood. He put the product in a glass tubing to trap the flavor inside. This became a trademark for all of his products.
The concept for Hopz cigars came about one late night during a business meeting at a local bar. Ted was drinking his favorite IPA when he wondered if he could possibly come up with the perfect smoke to complement his drink. He began right away trying to find just the right ingredients to put with the tobacco that was used.
The wrapper is made from Cameroon and is rolled tightly to give it a nice draw and other good characteristics. It has a floral taste that lasts all the way through it. Other flavors include cedar, pine, and a sweet, yet creamy undertone. When combined with a craft beer or other IPA’s, Hopz cigars have a very intense burst of flavors that keep the consumer coming back for more. If you are a cigar smoking aficionado who likes craft beers, be sure to visit our online cigar store and stock up.
