Ashton Cigars are considered by serious cigar smokers to rank among most respected and premium cigar brands in the entire world. They can be purchased in five different, quality, distinct bends of cigar leafs and aging periods. Each and every Ashton cigar undergoes a rigorous set of quality control inspections at the Fuente factory. No other cigar manufacturer has this stringent of a quality control structure, or standards that are quite so high.
The major lines of Ashton Cigars are therefore some of the most sought after in the world, and the Ashton brand has since become so famous now that many accessories, such as cigar ashtrays that bear the Ashton brand, are subsequently rising in popularity.
The strength of the Ashton Maduro is often described as being both full and sweet. It comes in a complex Connecticut wrapper, and has both a Dominican binder and Dominican filler.
A long, patient process of fermentation is required to create such a dark, sweet cigar. Only the oiliest and silkiest Connecticut Shade grown wrappers can be used to give the Maduro its distinctive flavor. Many customers report that they taste a hint of caramel and cedar in the even burn and excellent draw this cigar brings them. Many also like to smoke a Maduro with a cup of coffee, because of the consistency of its flavor that lasts all the way to the end.
The Benchmade line of Ashton Cigars is a medium strength line that comes in a Nicaraguan wrapper and contains Nicaraguan filler. The Benchmade line is manufactured in the Pepin factory in Nicaragua, and every cigar is made in the Cuban sandwich style with medium filler.
These are excellent smokes for the price.
Ashton Cabinet Selection
The Cabinet Selection line of Ashton cigars delivers a medium, rich, and complex strength. Wrapped in a Connecticut wrapper, it is made with a Dominican binder and contains Dominican filler. Flavors of peppers and nuts, along with a touch of cream, characterize this carefully-made cigar.
The broadest line by Ashton cigars is the Classic line. It can be described as being both medium and spicy in its strength. The Classic comes in a Connecticut wrapper with Dominican filler. Nine sizes are available in this hand-rolled line that is famous throughout the cigar world for its long-lasting, consistent tastes. Some say it has the perfect burn, and is has become a favorite aficionados throughout the world.
Heritage Puro Sol
This line of Ashton cigars is the result of two legendary cigar families blending their traditions. The Fuentes and the Meerapfels have combined forces to create the “Puro Sol.” Puro Sol means “Pure Sun” in Spanish. It refers to the fact that every inch of the cigar—starting from the wrapper and going from the binder to the filler—is made from 100% sun grown tobaccos.
This is the first time we have ever seen a Cameroon wrapper surrounding an Ashton blend. This marriage of Fuente Family blending and African Cameroon wrappers that hand-selected by Richard Meerapfel is sure to make the Heritage Puro Sol go down in cigar history.
